Coney Island Amusement Park development Plan Receives Final Approval in New York
New York City Council approved Mayor Bloombergs plan to establish a 27-acre (11-hectare) entertainment district with an amusement park development, high-rise hotels, and apartments. The city agreed to increase the amount of new housing set aside for poor and working-class families on the property and to establish a job-training program. Council also urged the city to reach a compromise with Joseph Sitt, the developer who has spent more than $90 million buying property in the area.

BARK Management, Amusement Park Consultant, Confident Darien Lake Can Weather Weak Economy
Season ticket sales are up 16 percent over last year, according to BARK Management, an amusement park consultant which operates the theme park.
